While trying to upgrade to Windows 8.1 I received a message to remove Sentinel Runtime Drivers. To the best of my knowledge, I have no Sentinel devices on my computer and there are no Sentinel programs to remove. However, the message persists.

Searches online all point to Sentinel HASP drivers which I've not heard of, so I can only conclude that the runtime drivers are embedded in other software which I could remove to solve the issue if I knew what it was. I tried running the command line removal suggested on the web, but nothing was found on my PC.
Since I cannot find Sentinel devices on my computer, I have backed up the Registry and then searched and removed any and all references to 'Sentinel' but I've encountered a couple of keys that cannot be removed even when I try to take ownership. They are found in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/Perflib/009.
Hasp Usb Driver Windows 7
The second is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/Perflib/CurrentLanguage.

I've tried changing ownership up the Registry tree but changes are not allowed for these keys. I don't know how the keys are related to Sentinel as they appear to associate with a 'counter' but they are identified as keys when I search the Registry for 'Sentinel'.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and solved it? If so, how?
